Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer

The E95 Elliptical Trainer elliptical from Sole is designed with a vibrant LED readout, and a built-in cooling fan and water bottle holder offer total convenience. Fluid, natural motion is provided by the whisper-quiet drive system, while the 29-lb flywheel and high gear ratio ensure a smooth feel.

I purchased the Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer a few weeks ago. I was a little concerned with the height of the machine. I am 6’2′ and have it located in the basement with 90″ ceilings. I have about 3″ of head clearance with no incline and my hair rubs the ceiling at full incline. The Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer is very smooth and the integrated programs are great. I especially enjoy the wireless heart rate strap and the associated workouts. The machine is heavy and the assembly is not difficult but does take some time. I would highly recommend this Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer (2011 Model)

Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer Key Stats and Specs:

  • Eddy Current Magnetic Break System
  • Foot pedal angle adjustment not found on any other elliptical
  • 2 degree inward slope of foot pedals reduces ankle and knee stress
  • 20 levels of resistance
  • 30 lb. flywheel and a high gear ratio
  • Heart rate chest strap
  • Wireless heart rate control workouts
  • 400 pound user weight capacity

The Sole E95 has a long list of features that would cost you hundreds extra on an elliptical from any other manufacturer .

For starters, Sole has developed an exclusive new foot pedal adjustment angle mechanism that you can customize to fit the exact way you walk (saves wear and tear on your ankle and achilles tendon).

If that wasn’t enough the E95 also has molded hand grips for extra comfort, shrouded rear rail guards that provide extra machine stability and safety, a huge 400 pound user weight capacity and a club style display console.

Throw in a lifetime warranty on the frame with a 5 years parts and 2 years in home labor, and you have the best elliptical machine under $2000.

Here is what I liked about the Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer..

  • Sole Fitness E95 elliptical consoleIndustry leading warranty — I’m not sure how Sole does it, but they offer incredible warranties on their treadmills and elliptical. It obviously reflects their durability. On the E95 Elliptical Trainer you get five years parts and 2 years labor. They have one of the best warranties period, for any elliptical, even ones selling for over $4,000.
  • New! Adjustable Power Incline — Having the ability to adjust the incline of the elliptical motion takes your crosstraining workout to a whole new level. It allows you to target specific lower body muscles like glutes and quads.
  • 30 Lb. Flywheel — For a residential elliptical this is a very heavy flywheel. The advantage of the extra weight is that it provides a more natural and smooth elliptical stride. You’ll notice when you start and stop that the motion gradually increases and slows down.
  • Speakers and Fan – The fan won’t blow you away, and the speakers are not the greatest, but it is convenient have both located directly in front of you. You can plug in an MP3 or iPod player.
  • Stable Dual Wheel Design Most front drive elliptical trainers have single wheels that one along a rail. This can lead to a slight shifting and instability. The Sole E95 has two concave wheels that makes for a very solid motion.
  • 20″ elliptical stride — When I tested the Sole ellipticals I was thoroughly impressed with long, smooth elliptical stride. It was how the elliptical should feel, and was similar to Precor and Life Fitness. You’ll find lesser priced machines have more of a circular motion, resulting in having to raise your knees higher.
  • 20 resistance levels — Some ellipticals have less than 10 levels, and the resistance can be dramatic from one level to the next. Not the case when you have 20.
  • Adjustable foot pedals — You can adjust the foot pedal to an exact angle with a worm screw. This can further reduce the strain to your feet and ankles. In addition, the pedals have a 2 degree tilt inward to add further comfort.
  • Includes Heart Rate Control —There are those who swear by heart rate control, and claim it optimizes their workout by letting their heart rate determine their level of exertion.
  • The Sole E95 weighs a hefty 215 lbs —This heavy weight contributes to the stability and sturdiness. Important factor, especially for users that push their machines to the limit, or have a few extra pounds. You may want to consider inside delivery due to the weight.
  • Handlebar Controls You can control the resistance and the incline with switches on the moveable handlebars. That means you do not have to break your stride and mess with buttons on the console. A smart idea.
  • 9″ LCD Backlit Display — New for 2011 is a LCD display which simultaneously shows Speed, Incline, Time, Distance Traveled, Calories, Pulse and Pace. Included is a 1/4 mile track feature and a peak and valley graph. Also, the console tilts for optimum viewing based on your height.
